Brown Rice and Chicken Ideas

Brown rice is much more healthy than white rice and there are a number of reasons why. Firstly, this is the whole rice grain with just the husk removed through the milling process. Unlike white rice, it retains its fibre, which contains vital nutrients. So that in itself is a good reason to choose brown rice over white and you can have it with many different types of dinners. Combining brown rice with chicken is a great idea and there’s lots you can do from curries, chilies and fried rice dishes. Chicken satay with brown rice is a dish that’s beautifully light with nutty notes from the sauce and the rice, but the key to all these dishes is cooking brown rice properly. Having it boiling away with the lid on for 20 minutes will soften it and give the rice that delightful chewy texture. Any more and the rice will go soggy so take your time with it and don’t let it overcook.
