Tips on Providing an Exceptional Buffet

Posted on January 20, 2014 at 7:36 pm

Many people will require buffets for certain events, such as business meetings, weddings, funerals, christenings and birthdays, and there are certain tips that can make sure a buffet goes smoothly.

Firstly the food should be thought through. There should be food for vegans and vegetarians (if they are attending), there may need to be foods for people with allergies such as coeliacs and it’s important that foods are kept at distance so there is no cross contamination between foods.

A buffet should can contain any foods you like and the most important part of choosing the food is making sure you have enough,. The last thing you’d want is for an individual to not feel satisfied, so it’s better to have too much than too little in this case.

Plates should be placed towards one end of the table, while a queuing system should be in place, and should be easy to follow once the first handful of individuals have gone up to grab their food.

Napkins should be provided while cutlery should be well-cleaned beforehand. If you can follow these rules when you’re providing a buffet, you should have a buffet that appeals to every individual’s needs.
